I finally understand where the motor release screw is on the outside of the slide. If you continue to have login issues when using saved bookmarks, please delete your bookmarks and recreate them. For the second time in 8 months, we are having issues with the rear motor on the bedroom Schwintek slide (motor 1).
Schwintek Slide Out Owners Full Extension AndWhen I tried to roll the slide out, yesterday, it got to within 2 inches of full extension and hung up on the rear (motor 1) side.
The front side (motor 2) will continue to roll the slide to full extension, but motor 1 wont budge. Needless to say, I learned quite a bit about the repairreplacement process last summer, so I have tried every diagnostic tool that I recall to get the slide operational (to no avail). Schwintek Slide Out Owners Manual Override ThatAs with the previous time this happened, the screw to disconnect the motor from the rod is not accessible, so the manual override that Lippert touts is not possible (cant disconnect the motor from the rod if you cant get to the screw). I spoke to a Lippert service rep, and although she has tried to be helpful, we are getting nowhere in resolving the fact that I am stuck at an RV park inHouston, Texas because I cant retract the bedroom slide. How is your Atlanta different On the control box have you tried switching the front and rear slideout wires By hung up on the on the rear do you mean that the motor quits altogether or does it try to operate but cannot. Is it on the top or bottom of the motor assembly Is it a phillips screw Yes, I tried switching the front and rear slide out wires.no luck. The rear (2 motor) tries to operate but cannot. From the outside I pull the seal back and one screw goes through part of the seal and into a slot on the motor. I had a bad motor when I was in Las Vegas and couldnt get anyone to fix it. Most didnt even know what I was talking about when I told them it was a Schwintek system. I managed to push the bedroom slide in and get to a dealer but its a job pushing it in. In trying to push ours out we saw the gears top to bottom get out of sync. In other words, the top would be a couple of inches more in or out vs the bottom of the slide. We had to get our slide top to bottom about equal before we could manually move it. In addition we wound up moving the slide with the motor attached on both sides. Was very difficult. Schwintek Slide Out Owners Free RV ParkThis dealer we are at has a free RV park they are putting us up at while we are waiting for the parts from Lippert and they will do the install. The last time it was the gear drive and they changed out the motor again. By the way, if you are ever in Houston and need mobile repair service, Aubrey Edwards (AVE RV) at 281-772-5021 is excellent. We replaced the rear motor on the bedroom slide (second time in 8 months, as previously mentioned).
